About this policy
Ocean Steel Industries (“Ocean Steel”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates oceansteel.in. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you browse our website, submit an enquiry, or contact us through the email, telephone or messaging channels listed on the website.
Our website presents our steel manufacturing, pre-engineered building and construction services. This policy covers website visitors and people making enquiries, including people contacting us on behalf of a business. Project contracts or other services may involve additional terms or privacy notices provided separately.
Personal information means information that identifies you, or can reasonably be connected to you. This policy explains our practices and your options; it does not replace any rights or obligations under applicable law.
Information we collect
The information involved depends on how you use the website and what you choose to share with us.
- Enquiry form information
- Our contact form requires your name, email address, mobile number and message. Your message may also contain a company name, project location, building requirements, budget or other details that you decide to include. The website sends these form fields to Formspree to process your enquiry.
- Correspondence and project information
- If you email, call or message us, we receive the contact details and content you share through that channel. Follow-up conversations may include project specifications, quotation requests and related business correspondence. Messaging platforms may also provide profile information according to your settings.
- Website usage and analytics information
- Google Analytics receives information about website activity, such as pages visited, referral sources, interactions, browser and device characteristics, cookie identifiers and approximate location. Our custom contact-form events record whether the form was viewed, started or successfully submitted. Those custom events contain form and event metadata rather than the values you enter in the form fields.
- Technical information received by service providers
- Loading the website, fonts, images, analytics or embedded maps involves technical requests. The providers serving those resources may receive an IP address, browser information, requested URL, request time and other connection data. Their processing depends on the service, browser settings and their own policies.
Share only what we need to help. Our website has no account-registration or payment form. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, Aadhaar or other identity-document numbers, health information, or unrelated sensitive personal information in your enquiry. If you share someone else’s details, make sure you have permission or another lawful basis to do so.
How we use information
We use information in connection with the purpose for which it was collected. For website enquiries and related communications, those purposes include:
- Responding to you: answering questions, contacting you about your enquiry and explaining our products and services.
- Understanding your project: assessing requirements, preparing quotations and coordinating relevant discussions about steel structures, manufacturing or construction work.
- Managing correspondence: keeping track of enquiries and follow-ups, and maintaining records relevant to a business relationship.
- Improving the website: understanding which pages visitors use and whether the contact form helps people reach us.
- Protecting services and meeting legal obligations: addressing spam, misuse, disputes or lawful requests, and retaining records where required.
Providing your contact details allows us to respond to your request. If you do not want to use the form, you can contact us by phone or email. Sending an enquiry is not, by itself, permission for unrelated promotional messages or a separate agreement to analytics cookies.
Where processing requires consent under applicable law, that consent must relate to the relevant purpose. You can contact us to withdraw consent or ask us to stop a particular use, subject to legal obligations and the practical consequences explained in section 9.
Cookies & analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. They can help a service recognise a browser and understand how a website is used. Third-party services may also use similar technologies and technical identifiers.
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic and interactions. Google documents first-party analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_<identifier>, which help distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Their actual lifetime depends on configuration and browser restrictions. Google processes technical information, including connection data and approximate location, according to its policies.
On the contact page, our custom tracking records form views, the first interaction with the form, and successful submissions. The custom tracking code does not send your name, email, phone number or message as event parameters. The enquiry itself is sent separately to Formspree.
Embedded services and resources
Google Maps embeds on the contact page may use cookies or other identifiers when they load. Fonts, icons and externally hosted images also make requests to their providers. Blocking analytics cookies does not necessarily prevent every third-party resource request.
How to manage cookies
- Use your browser’s privacy or site settings to view, block or delete cookies, including cookies associated with oceansteel.in.
- Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Other browser privacy tools may provide additional controls.
- Deleting cookies can remove stored identifiers, but it does not erase enquiry records already submitted or data already processed by a provider.
The website currently does not provide an on-site cookie preference panel. Browser restrictions may affect maps, fonts or other features. For more information, see Google’s Analytics cookie documentation and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Sharing & other services
Information may be received by the people and providers involved in responding to your enquiry, operating the website or meeting a legal requirement. The website uses the following external services:
- Formspree — contact form processing
- When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, mobile number and message are sent to Formspree. Formspree processes the submission so your enquiry can reach us and may process technical data for service operation and abuse prevention. See Formspree’s Privacy Policy.
- Google — analytics, maps and fonts
- Google provides Analytics, embedded Maps and web fonts. These services receive the technical or usage information needed for their respective features. Maps on the contact page contact Google when the embeds load; you do not need to send an enquiry for that request to occur. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare cdnjs and Unsplash — resource delivery
- Icon styles are loaded from Cloudflare’s cdnjs network, and some service-page images are loaded from Unsplash. Those requests may disclose your IP address and browser or request information to the resource provider. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and Unsplash’s Privacy Policy.
- WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and external links
- If you choose a WhatsApp, social-media or external map link, you leave our website or open another application. The destination may receive information about your visit and, if you contact us there, the messages and profile details you share. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. See WhatsApp’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Privacy Policy for Facebook and Instagram.
Business and legal disclosures
Enquiry details may be handled by Ocean Steel personnel and relevant service providers for the purposes described above. If fulfilling a project requires sharing details with a contractor, consultant or other business participant, the information should be relevant to that work and handled according to the applicable arrangement.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a valid legal process or a competent authority, or where necessary to address misuse or protect lawful rights. If a business transfer affects information we hold, any resulting handling remains subject to applicable law and relevant privacy notices.
Third-party policies explain those providers’ own practices. We do not control their websites, account settings or independent uses of information. A provider’s cookie or privacy controls may need to be managed directly with that provider.
International processing
Ocean Steel Industries is based in India. Some providers supporting this website operate internationally. Formspree, Google and other providers may process or store information in countries outside India, and the laws in those countries may differ from those where you live.
This policy does not promise that all information remains in India. Cross-border processing depends on the relevant provider, its infrastructure and the service used. Where applicable law requires conditions or safeguards for transfers, those requirements apply. You can contact us with questions about a particular enquiry or provider.
Data retention
Retention depends on the type of information, why it was collected and any applicable legal or contractual requirement. Different records may have different retention periods:
- Enquiries and correspondence: the period depends on the enquiry, necessary follow-up and whether a business relationship or project results.
- Project or business records: information associated with a quotation, contract, transaction or dispute may need to be retained for record-keeping, legal claims or applicable obligations.
- Analytics and provider records: retention depends on service settings and the provider’s policies, including the treatment of cookies, technical logs and backups.
We do not publish a single fixed retention period for every category. If you want to know about information connected to your enquiry, or want it deleted, contact us using section 12. We will assess whether it is still needed and whether a legal reason limits deletion. Deletion from an active system may not immediately remove copies held in backups or records a provider must retain.
Information security
The live website and its Formspree submission endpoint use HTTPS, which protects information in transit between your browser and those endpoints. Security also depends on the systems used to receive and handle enquiries and the safeguards provided by the third-party services described in this policy.
No website, email service or messaging platform can guarantee complete security. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through the contact form or ordinary correspondence. If a project requires confidential documents, contact us first to discuss an appropriate way to share them.
If you believe information relating to your enquiry has been exposed or misused, please contact us with the relevant details. Any incident response or notification obligations are determined by applicable law and the circumstances.
Your choices & requests
You can choose what information to include in an enquiry, manage cookies through your browser, or use a different contact channel. You can also contact us to make a privacy request.
- Access and information: ask what personal information we hold in connection with your enquiry and how it is used.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate contact or enquiry information.
- Deletion: ask us to remove information that is no longer needed, subject to legal, contractual or other applicable retention requirements.
- Withdrawal or stopping contact: withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or ask us to stop optional follow-up or promotional communications, if you receive them.
- Concerns and complaints: raise a concern about how your information has been handled and ask for it to be reviewed.
To make a request, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Describe the request and, where possible, use the email address associated with your enquiry. Include enough context to locate the relevant correspondence; please do not send identity documents unless we ask for information that is reasonably needed to verify your request.
We may need to verify that a request relates to your information or that you are authorised to act for someone else. We will assess requests under applicable law and explain any limitation that applies. The available legal rights, conditions and response periods depend on the law in force and your circumstances; this list does not mean every right applies in every case.
Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal. If you ask us to stop using information needed to discuss a project or respond to an enquiry, we may be unable to continue that part of the conversation. For information controlled independently by Google, Formspree or a messaging platform, you may also need to use that provider’s privacy channels.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for people seeking industrial, commercial and construction services. It is not directed at children under 18, and our enquiry form is not intended to collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has supplied personal information through the website, please contact us. We will review the request and take appropriate steps concerning that information, including deletion where applicable.
Policy updates
We may update this policy when our website, service providers, information practices or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the latest version posted on this page.
Where a change requires additional notice or a new consent under applicable law, that requirement applies separately. Merely posting an updated policy does not substitute for consent where consent is required. Please revisit this page to stay informed about our website’s information practices.
